JZN NFL Predictions vs. Spread: More Week 14 Picks Part 3 of 5

Here is part 3 of 5 (Plus two individual summaries) for my Week 14 picks this week.

Atlanta Falcons  (-2.5) at Carolina Panthers
The Panthers have won two consecutive games against the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, I just don't think their defense is good enough to beat a team like the Atlanta Falcons, especially when one considers that every win is critical for the Falcons' playoff lives. Michael Turner should run wild on this defense.

Against The Spread: Atlanta Falcons (-2.5)
Straight: Atlanta Falcons 30, Carolina Panthers 20

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-1) at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Buccaneers should have Josh Freeman for this game. The Jaguars are coming off a short week and have little to play for. The Buccaneers have lost six consecutive games and I'm not entirely sure that they haven't tuned out their head coach.

Maurice Jones-Drew should have another good game against one of the NFL's weakest run-defenses. Yet, the Jaguars are 2-8 with Blaine Gabbert as starting quarterback, one of those wins coming against the Indianapolis Colts. I'm going with the Buccaneers because of that weakness.

Against The Spread: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-1)
Straight: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 16, Jacksonville Jaguars 10

Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals (-3)
The Houston Texans are starting a third-string QB in T.J. Yates. But to be honest, I think the Cincinnati Bengals are about to implode. They've already lost three of their past four games. This is a good matchup for the Texans because the Bengals won't score many points with Andrew Dalton going against the Texans' defense. The Texans are allowing an opponent QB rating of 60.7 this season. The Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets are the only other teams below 74.9.

Texans are my upset special in a week where I'm not projecting too many upsets.

Against The Spread: Houston Texans (+3)
Straight: Houston Texans 16, Cincinnati Bengals 13
