JZN NFL Predictions vs. Spread: Seattle Seahawks at Cleveland Browns (Week 7, 2011-12)

The Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns feature two teams who have been bitten by the injury bug. They also have offenses that are perfect for Halloween. Can the Seahawks make the most of their bye week?

The early spread on this game is Browns (-2.5). Here are some of the key aspects of the game and what to watch out for in pick ’em leagues. All lines from Y! Sports and injury reports from CBS Sports as of October 19, 2011. Always update yourselves with injury lines because they’ll change throughout the week.

Keys to the Game
  • The Seahawks have had two weeks of preparation and rest
  • The Browns have two wins against teams who are a combined 0-11
  • Will Colt McCoy complete over 50% of his passes?
  • Can the Seahawks control the football? (31st in time-of-possession)
  • Which team will make the big play?
  • How much impact do injuries have on this contest?

Summary
This game features two offenses that average fewer than five-yards per play. The Seahawks usually play poorly on the road. The Browns haven’t played well at home this season. I’m not sure if there’s anything worse than watching Cleveland’s offense and Colt McCoy completing about 45% of his passes to those receivers.

I know I said that I’d never pick them again this season… but I’m going with the Browns. What are the chances that the Seahawks win two consecutive road games? I’d say pretty low. They’re also without their starting quarterback (Not like it matters…Tarvaris Jackson) and a ton of players remain questionable.

Tip: When I pick the Browns… that’s almost a guarantee that they’ll lose now.

Final Predictions:
Against the Spread: Cleveland Browns (-2.5)
Straight: Cleveland Browns 10, Seattle Seahawks 6
